call return
This feature keeps redialing busy numbers, then tells you when the line is free. When the number that you are calling becomes available, Call Return will alert you with a special ring. As soon as you pick up the phone, Call Return will place the call for you.
To Activate Call Return:
- Before hanging up, depress your switchhook.
- You will hear a special dial tone. (If you have already hung up and wish to redial the last number you called, just pick up the handset. You will hear the normal dial tone instead of a special dial tone.)
- Dial *66. (On rotary phones, dial 1166.) Your call will go through as normal.
- If the number is still busy, the system will check that phone number for up to 30 minutes.

If you dial the same number again during that 30-minute period when the system is checking the line status, and the line is still busy, repeat the activation procedure and the 30-minute clock will start over again.
You can have up to 30 requests in queue for Call Return at one time. However, you will not know which call is being completed when you receive the call back ring. (If you have Caller ID with a display phone or add-on unit, the number of the incoming call will automatically be displayed.)
This feature will not call back 1-800 or 1-900 numbers, numbers outside of your specified area, or phone lines where special features such as Selective Call Rejection or Call Forward have been activated.
